FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’m the shyest, most nervous person ever, and it’s seriously affecting my promotability in my career. Can you really help someone like me?
Yes! For over 20 years, public speaking made me literally sick to my stomach, so I know how paralyzing that anxiety can be. I also know how powerful and transformative it is to break through that fear, because now I stand on stage quivering with excitement instead of nerves. Not only that, I’ve helped countless clients just like you learn to conquer their own speech anxiety and speak with confidence, many of whom are introverts with intense speech anxiety who thought there was no hope for them. If you’re determined to conquer your speech anxiety, and you’re willing to put in the time and effort it takes to change your habits, I promise you I can help you get there.
How much time does it take to become a good speaker? What can we really accomplish in two or three sessions?
Becoming a great speaker is a lifelong process, but you can make tremendous progress toward your goals over 2-3 sessions of 1:1 coaching if you’re committed to practicing and changing your habits on a daily basis. I’ve seen clients with severe speech anxiety present with confidence at large high-stakes events after only 4-6 hours of 1:1 coaching.
I’m not sure I can afford this. What are your rates? Do you offer payment plans?
My current rates are available here. I do offer payment plans for clients who are ready to invest in coaching. My clients are tired of staying stuck in their fear of public speaking, tired of delegating presentations to more confident members of their teams, tired of saying no to promotions that come with greater visibility. If you’re ready to invest in coaching so you can say YES to leadership opportunities, contact me.
I can trace my fear of public speaking to my childhood. How deep do we go in the sessions?
I’m not a licensed psychologist, so I can’t diagnose your anxiety or offer counseling. Instead, I understand speech anxiety from having lived it for years myself and having coached countless clients through it. We’ll explore the roots of your speech anxiety through thoughtful discussion and then get to work tackling your anxiety through practical strategies, tools, and frameworks that you can implement before every meeting or presentation to calm your body, focus your mind, and organize your thoughts.
Do you work with clients remotely?
Yes, I offer 1:1 coaching remotely and I also lead remote trainings for teams over videoconference.
Is there a best time of day to work together? I’m trying to figure out how to add this into my already busy schedule.
I’m based in Silicon Valley and I work with clients on weekdays, Pacific Time.
I know nothing about public speaking. Do you work with beginners?
Absolutely! I work with speakers at all levels, from clients who have long avoided public speaking at all costs to clients who are accomplished speakers and want to take their skills to the next level. My 1:1 coaching and team trainings are customized to meet your needs, and I meet you where you are.
Can you customize a training for my team?
Yes! If you don’t see what you’re looking for in my list of trainings or you’re not sure exactly what your team needs, please contact me so I can customize a training for you. One of my favorite parts of my job is working with a client to design a new training that perfectly suits the needs of your team.
Do you offer public classes?
Not at this time, but if you’d like to learn more about public classes I may offer in the future, please join my newsletter and you’ll be the first to know.
I’d like to do this with my partner/friend/co-worker. Could you coach two people together?
Yes. Please contact me so we can customize a 2:1 coaching package that matches your needs.
Do you work with children or teens?
I don’t. My services are designed for corporate executives and teams, so I recommend contacting your local Toastmasters public speaking club to find out about youth leadership and presentation skills opportunities for kids in your area.
I need to learn English. Can you help me with that?
No, but I do offer presentation coaching to both native and non-native English speakers and have worked with hundreds of clients for whom English is a second or third language. When I work with non-native English speakers who want to boost their impact as public speakers, I often help them adjust their pace, emphasis, and presentation structure to maximize clarity.
I want to learn how to be a motivational speaker. Do you offer a package for that?
If you need a coach to help you craft a powerful and inspiring talk, I’m an expert at helping you shape your content and nail your delivery. If you’re looking for someone to help you master the business side of becoming a professional speaker, that’s not my area of expertise, since most of my clients are corporate executives who speak at their companies, to clients, or at industry events.
Where are you located? Where does coaching or training take place?
I am based in Silicon Valley and work with clients both in person and remotely.
